Physical Characteristics: 4 major regions in Europe meet in Slovenia: the Alps, the Dinarides, the Pannonian Plain, and the Mediterranean. Slovenia also has a network of underground landforms, such as rivers, caves, etc. Forests cover over half of the country. There are 3 climate zones: Mediterranean, continental, and Alpine.

 

Human Characteristics: The population of Slovenia is about 2 million, and the capital is Ljubljana. Many of Slovenians are artists in some way, which include painters, writers, musicians, bloggers, etc. This makes the Slovenian culture very artistic. Slovenia also hosts festivals for the citizens to showcase their talent.

 

Movement

People: Transportation in Slovenia is mostly by road, which means cars, buses, taxis, etc. Trains are slowly decreasing in population, although many still use it. Boats and ferries are commonly used as transporters for goods. 

 

Goods: The main exports for Slovenia are medicine, cars, petroleum, vehicle parts, and heaters. The main imports are petroleum, cars, medicine, and vehicle parts.

 

Ideas: Slovenia did not become its own country until 1991, so that gives the nation a lot of time to build its own culture based off of the countries that dominated the land before.

The latitude and longitude of Slovenia are 46•N and 14•E.

 

It is northwest of Croatia.

It is south of Austria.

It is west of Hungary.

It is east of Italy.

Human Environment Interaction

Humans Affect Environment: Forests are being affected by chemical waste. The toxic chemicals from power plants and industrial waste are polluting the rivers. 

Species are suffering because their land is being taken away from them.

 

Environment's Response: Acid rain has occurred multiple times, affecting the forests. The annual temperature has increased by .15-.29•C, and the precipitation has increased by 3-6% per decades passing. The more precipitation and the more air pollution, the more acid rain will come. 

 

Region

Slovenia is in Eastern Europe.

 

Eastern Europe has many different cultures. It also has a history that some people would love to hear more about. Slovenia can attract people from around the world with the culture and history.
