Location
The latitude and longitude of France are 46• N and 2•' E.
It is south of Belgium and the English Channel.
It is north of Spain.
It is east of the Atlantic Ocean.
It is west of Switzerland.
Place
Physical Characteristics: France has 2 mountain ranges in its country: the Pyrenees and the Alps. There are also many rivers, hills, and valleys. The climates of France vary because of the Atlantic Ocean, which includes relatively cold weather in the north and east section, warmer in the south, and a marine west coast climate in the west.
Human Characteristics: France has a lot of cultural diversity. It also hosts some of the most famous architectural structures, such as the Arc de Triomphe and Notre Dame de Paris. The type of government is a constitutional republic, and the largest city is Paris, where the Eiffel Tower is. The official language is French.
Human Environment Interaction
Humans Affect Environment: Water pollution is major in France. The warer is made toxic due to industrial, agricultural, and city waste. France also has one of the world's highest carbon dioxide emissions, though the country is working towards preserving habitats and setting policies in place for pollution.
Environment's Response: Forests are being damaged from of acid rain. Temperatures have risen about 30% higher, the effect resulting in heat waves. There has also been an increase in rain during autumn and winter.
Movement
People: People get around mostly by car, bus, or tram. Ferries are commonly used for transportation of goods. Airplanes are mostly used by travelers. Trains are the least used, but are still a main way of transportation.
Goods: The main exports of France are planes/helicopters, spacecraft, medicine, cars, vehicle parts, and petroleum. The main imports are petroleum: crude, refined, and gas, along with medicine.
Ideas: There was a time when France had the largest population in Europe. This helped spread the culture of France. France also colonized many countries overseas. such as modern day North America and parts of both Africa and Asia.
Region
France is located in Western Europe.
Western Europe has a variety of climates to live in, hence why people might want to move there. This is because of the Gulf Stream. It brings in warm air to the west side of Europe, or in this case France. The other parts of France can suit other types of people.
