Serbia

Location
The latitude and longitude of Serbia are 44•N and 20•E.
It is south of Hungary.
It is west of Romania and Bulgaria.
It is north of Macedonia and Albania.
It is east of Montenegro, Bosnia and Hertz, and Croatia.
Place
Physical Environment: In the north are plains, hills and rivers in the center, and mountains in the south. One of the mountain ranges is the Balkan Mountains. The climate is a humid subtropical climate.
Human Environment: The population of Serbia is about 7 million people, with the capital at Belgrade. Sports are a big part in Serbian's culture and history. Soccer is the most popular sport, which helped develop the reputation that Serbians are the biggest exporters of the sport.
Human Environment Interaction
Humans Affect Environment: The 1999 NATO bombing had a lot of impact on Serbia. Toxic chemicals released from factories went into the soil, air, and water. Water is still contaminated by the chemicals today, even 15 years after the bombing.
Environment’s Response: Temperature has increased by about .2•C. Temperature will increase in the 21st century. It is predicted that by 2040, the temperature would have increased by 1.3•C. Precipitation is bound to increase by at leas 5-10%, maybe more.
Movement
People: The way of transportations include trains and buses, the latter being more popular because of its efficiency and low cost. Flying can also be used, but it is expensive.
Goods: The main exports of Serbia are cares, wire, tires, frozen fruits/nuts, and socks. The main imports are vehicle parts, petroleum, and medicine.
Ideas: The Ottoman Empire once took over Serbia, which helped spread their culture to Serbians. The country was also part of Yugoslovakia, helping spread culture and gaining it.
Region
Serbia is in Eastern Europe.
Eastern Europe has many cultural attractions because the culture is very different from “western culture.” The history is also old and rich. This can interest some people who like to hear stories and folktales from the past.
