The latitude and longitude of Romania are 46• N and 25•E.

 

It is south of Moldova and Ukraine.

It is east of Serbia and Hungary.

It is north of Bulgaria.

It is west of the Black Sea.

Place

Physical Characteristics: The Carpathian Mountains are in the center of Romania, with plateaus and plains surrounding it. The Danube River also runs through Romania, forming a border between Serbia and Bulgaria. The climate zone is both temperate and continental.

 

Human Characteristics: The population is about 20 million people, and its capital is Bucharest. Many people in Romania have gone very far in life, such as Elie Wiesel who wrote the famous book, "Night." Sports are very popular in Romania, soccer and tennis among the top.

Human Environment Interaction

Humans Affect Environment: Industrialization is the main reason why pollution spread in Romania. Industries produce a lot of sulphur dioxide, which is not healthy at all. Forests have been taken down by farmers.

 

Environment’s Response: Temperature has risen about .5•C since 1901. Precipitation has decreased in the solstice seasons and an increase in autumn. Snow has decreased by about 82%. Wind strength has decreased since the past few decades.

Movement

People: People tend to ride trains and buses because they are inexpensive. Cars are also commonly used. Planes are usually rode in when people are either coming in or going out of the country.

 

Goods: The main exports of Romania are cars, car parts, wire, petroleum, and tires. The main imports are petroleum, medicine, vehicle parts, and wire.

 

Ideas: Many people, who were southern of the Danube River, migrated into Romania and shaped the culture to the way it is today. Some of these groups included the Roman Empire and Greeks.

Romania is in Eastern Europe.

 

Eastern Europe has a lot of different cultural aspects. There could be many layers to the culture, each very different and amazing. There is also a lot of background to Eastern Europe that lures people in that want to learn about history.
